Jason Daniel Earles (born April 26, 1977) is an American actor, known for his role on the television series Hannah Montana, and Kickin' It!.

Biography[]

Personal life and philanthropy[]

Earles was born in San Diego, California.[1] After living in Ohio and Washington state, his family moved to Oregon.[1] Before moving to southern California, Earles lived in Billings, Montana, where he graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2000.[2] He has contributed cast memorabilia to the college's fund raisers.[3]

Birth date controversy[]

Earles' birth year has been the subject of conflicting reports. Earles was 29 years old in January 2007, per USA Today, corresponding to a birth year of 1977.[4] Earles' resume gave a birth date of April 26, 1985.[5] A story in the Houston Chronicle in July 2007 stated that he was 19 years old.[6] A story in the Associated press in April 2009 stated that he was 32 on his birthday of April 26.[7]

Earles plays the older brother of Miley Stewart (Miley Cyrus), Jackson Stewart, in the Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana. He guest starred twice on Phil of the Future, as Grady Spaggett, an advanced math student. Earles was in the 2006 Disney Channel Games on the Blue Team and in the 2007 and 2008 Disney Channel Games on the Red team.

Earles played a nerdy card gamer that was friends with the character Brian Miller on the sitcom Still Standing. In 2004, he appeared in the movie National Treasure as Thomas Gates, ancestor of Ben Gates (Nicolas Cage). In 2005 Earles played Ernie Kaplowitz in the movie American Pie Presents: Band Camp. Earles will play Hunter, the android protector of the main character in the new Disney XD series, Aaron Stone.[8] He also voiced Spudnik in the talking dog movie, Space Buddies.[8]

Earles was the co-host of Disney Channel's Sing-Along Bowl-athon (Disney Channel's 2006 New Year's Eve special) and the corresponding online voting.[9]
