Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe [1] (originally titled The Phineas and Ferb Movie [2]) is the title for an animated film adaptation of Phineas and Ferb released on Disney+ in August 28, 2020[1]
Plot[]
The movie centers on Phineas and Ferb as they set out across the galaxy to rescue Candace who has been abducted by aliens and has found utopia in a far-off planet, free of pesky little brothers.[1]
Songs[]
At the 2019 D23 Expo, Marsh and Povenmire revealed the film will include "nine or ten" songs, which is about the same number of songs featured in the episode "Rollercoaster: The Musical!"[3]
Production Information[]
- The film is being produced by Disney Television Animation[4] with Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh serving as executive producers.[5]
- All of the original cast will return to reprise their roles, with the exception of Thomas Sangster as Ferb due to his scheduling conflicts. Instead, David Errigo Jr. will reprise his role from the Milo Murphy's Law special, "The Phineas and Ferb Effect", making this the second time he would voice him.[5]
- Jim Bernstein, one of the writers for the movie, revealed that The Phineas and Ferb Movie is a different production from the shelved theatrical Phineas and Ferb film.[6]
- The live horns for the film were recorded on November 6, 2019, making this the second Phineas project to involve live musicians after Star Wars.[7]
- Povenmire tweeted about the movie being finished off at home due to the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic.[8][9]
